129 illegal workers arrested in Bahrain on February

Manama : The Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Search and Follow-up at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) said on Wednesday that 129 illegal workers had been arrested during inspection drives in February.

The drives were part of the directives of His Excellency the Interior Minister and follow-up by the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for the NPRA .The plan was meant to check illegal workers through drives conducted in association with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, police directorates and the Ministry of Works and Municipality Affairs.

The Undersecretary affirmed the importance of joint efforts, especially the cooperation of citizens, to fight the problems caused by illegal workers.
