She also discussed plans for Manama Capital of Arab Tourism 2013, and reiterated at l’Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, that it will feature four successive quarterly themes – Cultural, Sport, Leisure and Green Tourism – in conjunction with the four seasons.
In Moscow, Sheikha Mai attended the opening of ”Tylos, the Journey beyond Life,” which features 250 archeological pieces, some dating back to the second century BC, on loan from the Bahrain National Museum. “We are proud to have Bahrain’s heritage and culture on display at international museums, such as The Hermitage in St. Petersburg, and now Moscow,” said Sheikha Mai. In just over four months at The Hermitage, the exhibit attracted over half a million visitors.
